When looking for the best restaurants in Universal Orlando, you won’t have to stray far from the rides and attractions to grab yourself something tasty during the day. Lunchtimes are a feast of food and imaginative design throughout both of Universal’s flagship parks – Universal and Islands of Adventure – while you can also easily find a fancy dinner, especially around Universal’s CityWalk complex with its collection of cool restaurants, bars and live shows.

The whole concept of Universal is to make the movies come to life and meal times are no different. The best places to eat in Universal Orlando present movies settings and fictional lands come to life. Thanks to the eye to detail and huge expense, the results will impress mom and dad as much as the little ones. Three Broomsticks

    Islands of Adventure

Three Broomsticks is styled after the restaurant featured in the Harry Potter series and delivers a totally immersive experience. Located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure, top picks from the menu include the half roast chicken and the excellent fish and chips, served with a light and crispy batter surrounding succulent white fish.

The frozen butterbeer is a great choice during the summer months when midday temperatures will leave you sweltering. There is an outdoor terrace which fills up quickly but offers an amazing view of Hogsmeade village. The restaurant is connected to The Hog’s Head, the famous pub from the Harry Potter series.

    Mythos Restaurant

    Islands of Adventure

Mythos Restaurant is an award-winning restaurant built into what appears to be a cave. Located in The Jurassic Park: The Lost Continent® section of Universal’s Islands of Adventure, the interior evokes the prehistoric setting well, although the menu takes a sharp detour from the caveman theme. Greek and pan-Mediterranean dishes are the speciality here, including risotto, mezze platter, and lamb skewers.

What we love about this restaurant is that you can have high-level contemporary cuisine with excellent service and all the trimmings without having to leave all the fun of the fair. Mythos Restaurant should be on your list to try if you are serious about great food.

    The Simpsons Fast Food Blvd.

    Universal Studios

Ever wondered what it would be like to sample a Krusty Burger or enjoy an ice-cold Duff from Moe’s Tavern, just like in The Simpsons? Well, now you can at the Springfield Fast Food Blvd.

There are about 9 eateries located in Welcome To Springfield, Home of The Simpsons™ food-court zone in Universal Studios Florida, including Italian pasta and pizza at Luigi’s, seafood at The Flying Dutchman and chicken from Cletus’ Chicken Shack. The whole experience is very well done and fans of the show will notice so many small details from past episodes.

    Antojitos Authentic Mexican

    CityWalk

Bold flavours and fun times are what to expect at Antojitos Mexican restaurant in CityWalk. Specializing in street food style servings of classic Mexican dishes, come here to try sizzling fajitas and delicious guacamole made fresh at your table.

Certainly catering more towards adults, the tequila menu is very impressive – we’ve never seen such an in-depth list on this side of Tijuana – and the live Mariachi band adds a festive mood to the restaurant. Open for dinner only.

    • Opening Hours: Sunday–Thursday from 4pm to 11pm, Friday–Saturday from 3pm to midnight

    The Cowfish

    CityWalk

This sushi and burger bar in Universal’s CityWalk offers fusion food and a family-friendly ambience. Among the must-try items on the menu is the ‘Burgushi’, a combination of a burger and sushi using hamburger ingredients to make sushi rolls – it’s a unique dish found only at The Cowfish, to our knowledge. The huge kid’s menu at The Cowfish ensures diners of any age will find something to enjoy.

    • Opening Hours: Sunday–Thursday from 10.30am to midnight, Friday–Saturday from 10.30am to 1am

    Lombard's Seafood Grille

    Universal Studios

Lombard’s Seafood Grille is a go-to restaurant when you are looking for a fancy table service meal in Universal Studios Florida theme park. The lobster rolls are magnificent, but there’s plenty of seafood, and meat dishes to choose from. The décor is elegant but that’s not to say young ones won’t enjoy the dining experience here.

The aquarium is always a point of interest and the views are wonderful too. If you want to dine and watch the Cinematic Spectacular in the evening you have to book a special dinner package but you must do it well in advance – as in months!

    Finnegan’s Bar & Grill

    Universal Studios

Finnegan’s Bar and Grill is an Irish-American pub and restaurant located in Universal Studios Florida. Among the authentic pub grub on the menu, go for corned beef and cabbage, Guinness beef stew and Irish soda bread with apple butter.

Despite this being a pub, Finnegan’s Bar & Grill is suitable for all ages and actually has a communal, fun vibe thanks to live music performed by an Irish folk band.

    Vivo Italian Kitchen

    CityWalk

Vivo Italian Kitchen is a classy restaurant with excellent service and a menu of tried and tested Italian classics – choices such as burrata cheese, seafood linguine, Neapolitan pizza and tiramisu are all popular.

Even though it is located in Universal CityWalk, Vivo doesn’t have the feel of a theme park restaurant, which can be a welcome relief after days of counter service and plastic cups. Vivo Italian Kitchen is open for dinner only but families are welcome.

    • Opening Hours: Sunday–Thursday from 4pm to 11pm, Friday–Saturday from 4pm to midnight

    Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

    CityWalk

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., in reference to Tom Hanks’ fictional company in the 1994 movie Forrest Gump, is a wildly popular restaurant franchise that serves, unsurprisingly, plenty of seafood – the Cajun shrimp is highly rated – along with American classics such as pork ribs.

This themed restaurant is part of Universal’s CityWalk but the prices are very competitive when compared to most of the other outlets in this fun, but generally expensive, part of the Universal Orlando complex. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Orlando has a whole section devoted to gluten-free and a fun kid’s menu which comes with a souvenir glass.

    Margaritaville Restaurant

    CityWalk

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is a family-friendly venue that is overflowing with good time vibes. Principally a restaurant serving a bar menu of burgers, popcorn shrimp and spicy nachos, all ages are allowed in Margaritaville all the time – there is no curfew – but for mom and dad, the signature list of cocktails and live music will ensure a lively night out.

The great thing about this venue is that live music and shows start early, at the accessible time of 6pm. Located in CityWalk, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is a great compromise when looking for a meal that adults will love and kids will still be welcomed and entertained.

    • Opening Hours: Sunday–Thursday from 10.30am to midnight, Friday–Saturday from 10.30am to 1am
