The World of Disney store at Orlando Florida’s giant Walt Disney World is officially the largest Disney merchandise store in the world. It’s pretty much safe to say that any Disney related – be it gifts, souvenirs, clothing, accessories or a cute pair of giant Mickey Ears – it will be here.
Located at the Disney Springs Marketplace area towards the east of the huge resort, World of Disney is easily reachable by car or shuttle service and well sign-posted along the way from any of the main entrances. Although part of the wider park, entrance to this section is free as this is not part of a theme park, so the public are able to come and go without having to buy a day-ticket.
The impressive, newly-built shop façade looks like something straight from a movie set, and once inside you’ll discover 12 different rooms filled with everything Disney, from all the latest blockbuster hits to old-time favourites reminding you of your childhood.
Among the stuff on sale, expect lots of branded hats, T-Shirts, watches, collectables, figurines, pins, posters, kids’ toys, cardboard cut-outs, cuddly toys and lots more. It’s not the cheapest place in the world to buy Disney items – but then again you are at the epicentre of probably the most famous Disney resort on the planet, so you are guaranteed everything is of the highest quality and fully returnable if you’re not happy with your purchase (terms and conditions apply).
If it’s shopping you are after at Disney World Orland, the giant World of Disney store is not your only option – far from it. Head to the Marketplace at Disney Springs and you’ll find a wealth of other shopping options, from niche boutiques to larger stores. Some of the highlights at Disney Springs include the Cirque Du Soleil Boutique, Dino-store, Disney Design-a-Tee, House of Blues Company Store, Lefty’s, Orlando Harley Davidson, and United World Soccer.
Needless to say, there are also plenty of other attractions just walking distance from the World of Disney store in the Disney Springs area such as the famous House of Blues, Cirque Du Soleil, live music concerts at the Patio Stage and the AMC Movie Theatre at Disney Springs 25. Notable restaurants here include The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Grand Café, Cookies of Dublin, Fulton’s Crab House and Planet Hollywood.
Entrance fees apply to individual venues, but the main thing to know is that you can access the Disney Springs area of Walt Disney World Orlando for free – and all the shopping options are free to get inside. Most of the venues here are open all day, every day, but do check the link below for specific times.
