Olde64 Bar in Orlando
Popular Retro Bar in Downtown Orlando0
Olde 64 takes over the legendary Bar BQ Bar, a favorite hipster hangout in Downtown Orlando that closed its doors after its lease ran out at the end of August 2014. Just a few weeks later, up sprung Olde 64, which continues Bar BQ Bar’s retro vibes just with a fresh lick of paint, some new furniture and more progressive music policy (the previous dive bar was all about the 70s and 80s music only).
Located on the ever-happening North Orange Avenue (the epicenter of Downtown Orlando’s bar and club scene) the spacious venue feels stylish without ever trying too hard; framed retro posters hang from the immaculately painted ocean-blue back walls, while the mosaic tiled floor underfoot feels reassuringly authentic.Read More
The well-stocked bar specializes in two things: beer and whisky. As well as a long list of imports, expect to find a changing collection of craft ales and some interest local whiskeys and bourbons, not to mention all your regular spirits and a few varieties of wine both by the bottle and by the glass. Promotions run throughout the week, such as a very tempting ‘Late Night Happy Hour’ on Saturdays 20:00-22:00 where almost all drinks are $3.50.
DJs do play here on occasion, but this is generally more of a sit-and-chill kind of place rather than a hands-in-the-air party venue. It makes a good place to start the night, especially if you don’t want to travel too far for your next stop: Aero rooftop bar is located just upstairs in the same building, presenting a livelier open-air nightclub that gets busy later on. A final space making up a trio of venue is The Patio, a relaxed outside bar with direct access from Olde 64.
You can easily find Olde 64 Orlando located on the very popular North Orange Avenue in the middle of Downtown. The bar is open daily from 20:00 until with no cover charge. ID is required (21+).
