Best things to do at Night in Downtown Orlando
Downtown Orlando is packed full of nightlife options, from quaint hole in the wall bars that serve a mix of regulars and tourists, to giant live music arenas and all-out nightclubs. Most of the nightlife options on Downtown Orlando are centered on the buzzing Orange Avenue and Church Street, though plenty of establishments are spread out for a few blocks in every direction.
Downtown Orlando bars and clubs certainly have a less commercial feel to them when compared with nightlife in Disney World and Universal resort, but that’s not to say they don’t get packed with the passing tourist crowd, who mix with the city’s locals and some university students. Below, find the best bars and clubs in Downtown Orlando!Read More
Even though many of the bars here get packed-out with day-trippers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and international tourists, Wall Street Plaza - right in the heart of Downtown - still offers a more ‘local’ experience compared to other nightlife areas in Orlando. This entertainment complex promises a fun mix of laidback restaurants, lively bars, and all-out nightclubs, with seven venues in total. Head to Hooch for their 16:00-19:00 happy hour and alfresco setting, Monkey Bar for cheap and delicious martinis, Sideshow for feel-good American food and live sports, and end your night at Shine, a cheesy yet hugely popular nightclub Read More...
2Aero Rooftop Bar0
- Opening Hours: 11:00 - late
- Location: Wall Street, Downtown Orlando, FL 32801
This hugely popular downtown spot feels more like an outside-nightclub rather than a chilled out rooftop bar; you’ll certainly get that impression if you arrive close to midnight on a weekend, as DJs fill the terrace with commercial dance tunes and neon lasers are projected into the night sky. Aero’s party atmosphere is helped in no small part with some rather thrifty drinks promos like 2-4-1 shots before 23:00, as well as free cover charge. A few sofas and tables can be found around the edge, while the several ceiling fans keep things cool in the most unglamorous
- Opening Hours: 17:00 - 02:00 (varies on event)
- Location: 60 North Orange Avenue, Orlando, Florida
- Tel: +1 321-245-7730
For cocktails, this former cobbler’s shop turned speakeasy rooftop bar is about as unique a place as you’ll find in Orlando. Intimate might be an understatement here, with only a dozen or so seats and standing space for perhaps a 20 more. Take your spot at the dilapidated main bar to chew the fat with bartender, or head outside to the slightly more modern (but still as compact) rooftop terrace to catch the live band or a movie screening. Do also explore Hanson’s impressive cocktail menu as much as your liver allows; it’s one of the best in the city. Read More...

The main 5,000 square-foot club room at EVE Orlando goes big on style, both in terms of interior and the crowd it seems to attract. The giant glass chandelier above the dance floor has survived as the main focal point, while an LED wall, TV screens, and more VIP booths have been added as part of the refurbishment. The space fits in three full-service bars, or those with a bit more cash to splash should reserve a table at one of the three VIP areas which offer full bottle service. Open Wednesday through Sunday (and certain other days according to schedule), it’s worth checking out EVE nightclub’s ever-changing lineup of events, which in the past has included everything from live DJ events, acoustic gigs and sexy model shows. Vodka connoisseurs might argue that Grey Goose is all style over substance, and the same might be said about this rooftop spot atop Amway Arena. Backed by the premium vodka brand, it’s no surprise that One80 is a see-and-be-seen kind of place; undeniably stylish and glamorous, but a bit expensive. The good news, however, is that unlike many of Orlando’s other rooftop bars, there’s actually some impressive views to be had across the Downtown, which can be enjoyed from a range of comfy seating both inside and out. Do watch out for the crowds heading upstairs after the Magic games finish in the arena below, normally every other week.

Tier is one of the leading nightclubs in Orlando for electronic dance music and is located near a cluster of similar venues a block or so away from Lake Eola Park in Downtown. Emphasis here is really is on the live DJs, with the whole club focusing on the central DJ booth; the compact dance floor at the front is surrounded by a few booths, and there is also an upstairs level providing more dancing space and a few more VIP booths. Doors are open every night (apart from Mondays) at 22:00, though to get the full Tier experience its best to head here around midnight on a weekend night.

The Beacham is one of the most famous names in Downtown’s Orlando’s ever-thriving nightlife scene, and also happens to be one of the largest venues about town, making it the perfect place to host huge live concerts. The recently renovated space is housed in a converted 1920s warehouse, with high ceilings, a massive dance floor fronting the elevated stage, and plenty of room to sit towards the back and around the bar (before it fills up anyway). Located on the ever-happening North Orange Avenue (the epicenter of Downtown Orlando’s bar and club scene) the spacious venue feels stylish without ever trying too hard; framed retro posters hang from the immaculately painted ocean-blue back walls, while the mosaic tiled floor underfoot feels reassuringly authentic.
As well as a long list of imports, expect to find a changing collection of craft ales and some interest local whiskeys and bourbons, not to mention all your regular spirits and a few varieties of wine both by the bottle and by the glass. Promotions run throughout the week, such as a very tempting ‘Late Night Happy Hour’ on Saturdays 20:00-22:00 where almost all drinks are $3.50. Read More...
9Amway Center varies0
- Opening Hours: 20:00-02:00 daily
- Location: 64 North Orange Avenue, Orlando, Florida
- Tel: +1 407 648 5441
Opened in 2010, seating arrangements and the floor plan at this multi-purpose venue can be transformed from a live music hall, into a basketball court, ice hockey rink and an indoor football pitch. Currently, the Amway Center is home to Orlando’s three major sports teams: the Orlando Magic of the NBA, the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League, and the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL (ice hockey).
Not surprisingly, it’s the Orlando Magic (who play in the NBA) that normally pack-out the Amway Center when they play their home games, as locals - as well as tourists – flock to the 20,000 capacity stadium for a chance to watch some of the biggest basketball stars in the world in action. Attic is one of the many top night spots located around the Church Street and Lake Eola Park area of Downtown (both of which are just one block away in fact). The large club follows the whole three-in-one concept of most other places nearby, with a bar area, VIP lounge and main club room. Tuesday through Saturday Attic welcomes local DJs and the occasional international name, and one thing you can be certain of is it that it will be back-to-back EDM anthems all night long. There’s a definite VIP-vibe created throughout, with a young, dressed up crowd downing bottles of Belvedere on ice, though the interior goes for the more underground, industrial look with a nice mix of exposed brick walls behind the DJ booth and a wooden slate covered dance floor.
