The huge range of nightlife at Disney World Florida keeps the vast resort buzzing every night of the week; just because the theme parks close after the sun goes down, it doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. Orlando’s Disney World presents literally hundreds of things to do at night, from checking out live theatre performances, watching free parades light up the streets and stunning firework and pyrotechnic displays, with Wishes Nighttime Spectacular over Cinderella’s Castle being the most famous of them all.

These include some world-class restaurants, massive live music venues and spirited taverns where the crowd often break out into mass sing-alongs as the night draws to an end (and the kids are already tucked up in bed). The spectacular Wishes Nighttime show, the iconic firework show that illuminates Cinderella’s Castle at The Magic Kingdom every night, simply is one of the must-do things at night when visiting Orlando. The first firework illuminates the sky at exactly 20:00 or 22:00 (depending on the day), with the show lasting 12 minutes in total. Day-pass holders for Magic Kingdom can get up close for the best vantage points at the end of Main Street, although the firework display can also be enjoyed from outside the park – as long as you have a good view of the main castle, you’ll be able to enjoy the display for free! For a raucous night of live entertainment – minus the kids – there’s no better place at Disney than the much-loved Jelly Rolls, situated at Disney’s BoardWalk. Two pianists take to the stage every night to battle it out with classical takes on all popular hit songs, as well as requests from the crowd. Audience participation is encouraged too, with sing-alongs and even audience members being invited to swap seats with the pianists. There is a cover charge of around $12, but think of Jelly Rolls as more of a live show (this is Disney after all) and you won’t leave disappointed – unless pianos really aren’t your thing.

This fun nightlife spot is not actually part of the Disney franchise, but it’s very close by, located just outside the resort off International Drive. The clue with this bar really is in the name: expect video games, plenty of beer and a decent soundtrack to keep the atmosphere cool and trendy rather than geeky and stale. The lineup of consoles is more than comprehensive; they have a PS4, Xbox One, WII, first-person shooters, PC consoles and a host of puzzle and family games too. Beers from around the world are on tap plus a few excellent local craft beers which we highly recommend.
