Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is now permanently closed.
Wishes Nighttime Spectacular firework display at Disney World Orlando runs every evening at 22:00 or 20:00 (depending on the day), dazzling the crowds that flock towards Cinderella’s Castle for just over 10 minutes.
Ticket holders who have spent the day at Disney can get up close for the best vantage points at the end of Main Street, although the firework display can also be enjoyed from outside the park – as long as you have a good view of the main castle, you’ll be able to enjoy the display for free!

Wishes Nighttime Spectacular
Perhaps the most famous and longest-running firework display on Earth, Wishes Nighttime Spectacular first started in October 2003 and has been going pretty much every day since (extreme weather has on occasion stopped the show). But the fireworks at Disney have an even longer history than that, as the current show actually replaced the ‘Fantasy in the Sky’ that ran for a whopping 32 years beforehand! There is also a copycat version of the show held at Cinderella’s Castle at Disneyland Paris.
There are several versions of the ‘Wishes’ firework display, so if you’re staying at the resort for consecutive days it’s worth coming to see again, as the effects and story plot alternate depending on the night (check their website for the timetable). The shows are all narrated by famous Disney characters, with the castle illuminated with special effects and a stunning display of fireworks overhead, not to mention a state-of-the-art sound system that can be heard from miles away.
Most of the crowds start to gather around Disney’s ‘Main Street’ around 20-30 minutes before the show starts; here you will get the best views - but it can get crowded, meaning a slow exit afterwards. If you’re looking for a less-crowded spot, try heading for ‘Tomorrowland Terrace’ or the second level of Main Street Railroad Station, both within Disney Resort. If you’re outside the park, you can still see the show (as long as you can see Cinderella’s Castle), although you may need a pair of binoculars depending on how far away you are...
Your kids’ trip of a lifetime to see Mickey and Co at Disney World Orlando simply isn’t complete without witnessing the spectacular that is Wishes Nighttime, at Magic Kingdom.
